UK Scrappers 2014 Summer Scrapbooking Challenge...

Morning Everyone!

I have finished off some more of the UKS 2014 Summer Scrapbooking Challenges that my lovely crafty friend Niki set iso now only have 4 more to do... and I have until the end of Sept to finish them off so should get them all completed!

This layout was for Challenge #3 which had me stamping the background for my layout, I just picked out a variety of words and symbol stamps and stamped away. It was actually fun to do and I am happy with how it turned out.

A close up of the stamped background...

My next layout is for Challenge #4 and we had to use frames, ink or mists and Project Life cards.

Here is the frame I used...

The ink and mists...

And the Project Life cards (homemade)...

Challenge #5 was to follow a sketch and use typography (like a Project Life card)...

The Project Life card I used was perfect to go with our wedding photo...

My final layout was for Challenge #8 and we had to follow a sketch...

I added a couple of extra photos as I had so many of our nephew Ralph at his 1st birthday party that I wanted to use them all...

March Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

This week I used the 'Lost & Found - Record It!' by My Mind's Eye from the March Being Scrappy Kit. Now these papers are very glittery and I am not a big fan of glitter papers as it goes everywhere however do love the look so tend to just do a lot of wiping up afterwards! I used some pics from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's wedding last year that feature the colour they used.... tiffany blue. Sam proposed to Cheryl in New York and then bought her ring from Tiffany's so was pretty special to them both.

I used the 'Antique Lovely' paper as the base for my layout... no glitter and I loved the chandeliers.

Cut a 5" x 12" strip of the glitter 'Antique Charming' paper. Then cut two 1" x 12" strips of the beige Bazzill and punch a fancy border. Attach to each side of the glitter 'Antique Charming' paper and then stick the whole lot down about 1" from the bottom of the layout.

I added 4 x photos (three 4" x 5.5" and one 4" x 6") to the left side of the layout, though you could use a different combination if that suited your layout better.

Add some of the matching brads and tags to embellish the layout.

Finish off with a title, mine were from my own stash.

February Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy....

Morning Everyone!

This week I am using the 'You Are My Happy' papers by Teresa Collins from the February Being Scrappy Kit. I used another of my wedding photos for this layout.

I picked the pretty foil paper 'Hearts' for my background.

Cut a 5" x 8" piece of the kraft Bazzill, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom right of the layout.

Next cut a 5.5" x 6" piece of the floral 'Pretty Flowers' paper and ink the edges. Stick down to the left of the kraft Bazzill.but leave the top edge free as I wanted to pop the big tag in here.

Then cut a 2" x 11" strip of the 'Pretty Flowers' paper and stick down to the bottom of the other papers.

Add your 6" x 4" photo.

Add one of the small tags along with a few punched shapes to the bottom left of the photo.

Then take a small strip of one of the patterned papers along with a few more punched shapes and add to the top right of the layout. I added a few small pearl dots to finish off.

Finish off with a title, I used some alphas from my own stash.

January Week 3 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

This week for Being Scrappy I'm using the 'Hello Again' papers by Carta Bella, very pretty sorbet colours with touches of navy and garden green. I used one of our wedding photos as it was a perfect match...

Cut a 6.5" x 10.5" piece of the 'Triangles' paper and then cut a 5.5" x 5.5" square out of one end leaving a 0.5" border.

I used the large chevrons side of the Hello Chevron' paper as the base for my layout though I did gut a 6" x 6" piece from the left side. Use the 'Triangles' piece already cut to work out where to gut.

Take the piece of spotty 'Hello Chevron' paper and stick this down over the hole in the layout base.

Crop a photo down to 5" x 4" and stick down on a slant and then stick the 'Triangles' piece (with a hole cut out) over the photo.

Add one of the journaling cards from the 'Journaling Cards' paper and add some of the stickers from the 'Hello Again' sticker sheet that comes with the Kit.

Finish off with some journaling and a title (I used some alphas from my own stash).

December Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy....

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas Day with their families and friends. Lee and I are spending the time over at his parents where we will be tucking into a huge Christmas dinner, drinking, having a snooze, playing games, then eating some more while playing more games and eventually falling into bed pretty late (dependant on how the games went!). We usually play Trivial Pursuit, The Logo Game, Best of British and it gets very competitive!

Anyway onto today's layout... I used the 'Family Stories' papers by Teresa Collins from the December Being Scrappy Kit. As they are obviously family focused papers I dug out a photo from Lee's youngest brother Sam's wedding that was perfect.

I used the grey zigzag 'Family' paper as the base for my layout.

Cut a 4.5" x 11" piece of the wood 'Framed' paper and stick down approx. 3" from the left side of the layout.

Next cut a 4" x 10" piece of the 'Doily' paper and stick down approx. 1" from the left side of the layout.

I did cheat a little and add 2 x small doilies from my stash. Stick these down along with a 7" x 5" photo and a journaling card cut from the 'Notecards' paper.

Then I cut a selection of journaling strips from the 'Noted' paper into short lengths and layered them at the bottom left of the photo and to the top right of the journaling card. Add some of the
enamel dots that come with the Kit.

Finish off with a title... I used some alphas from my own stash.

Niki has come up with two fab layouts, have a look here to see what she came up with... The December Kit will be available for a short time from here.

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your Christmas break!
