UK Scrappers June Weekly Challenge...

Hi Everyone!

I have been a bit slack with posting lately... we were on 2 weeks holidays at the beginning of May and since we got back just have not got back into scrapping too much (and blogging as you can see!). Anyway getting back on track now and have finished the first weeks challenge for UKS...

We had to use three of the following:
1) Rose, turquoise and green colour pallet 
2) Red, white and blue colour pallet 
3) Celebrate a marriage, birth or birthday
4) Celebrate an island holiday, visit, heritage ~ note we are not specifying small islands so as to allow our own islands of United Kingdom to be included
5) Use a summery outdoor picture
6) Add turquoise, pearl or moonstone like embellishments

So we had plenty of options to choose from which is always good! I had a cute photo of my friend Andrea's daughter Amy which worked as option 4) as it was from a holiday weekend and it worked perfectly with the first lot of colours suggested (rose/turquoise/green). I added some candy dots in turquoise which covered off option 6). Job done!

I have had the Thickers alpha for ages and have just not had chance to use it before now. I think it worked well with the papers and photo.

UK Scrappers April monthly challenge...

Morning Everyone!

Over at UK Scrappers in April the monthly challenge was to create a layout using the following:

1) One word title
2) Two photos
3) Three patterned papers
4) Four blue elements
5) Five lines of journaling

This was a fun challenge and I managed to include all of the five requirements above! My pics are more of Amy and Joe at Willows Farm. This time of them riding the mechanical cow, they both wanted to keep going but had to finally get off when some other kids came along for a ride.

My one word title... I did check this and agreed that it was one word!

Three patterned papers, the striped one, the die-cut paper and the pink spotted one...

Four blue elements - button, enamel dots, ribbon and washi tape...

UK Scrappers Simple Recipes layout April...

Hi Everyone!

This is the layout that I did for the UK Scrappers Simple Recipes challenge for April... the guidelines were to use:
1) A sketch
2) 3 x colours (spring green/zingy yellow/orange)
3) A stamp
4) Technique - clear embossing with water colour paints
5) Confetti/sequins
6) Project Life card or tag

I managed to get all of them in except the technique! Just been very busy with work as I am off on holidays soon and there is too much to do before I go :-( which means my scrapbooking is getting left behind.

I picked a couple of pics from a visit to Willows Farm with my friends and their children, Amy and Joe. The photos aren't the best but I love that they show them having fun on the blow up slide.

I stamped the splats using a Stampin' Up! set...

Used a Project Life card...

And a tag...

And punched out some confetti pieces...

October Week 5 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

For this week's layout I am using the 'Cut & Paste' papers from My Mind's Eye that come in the Being Scrappy October Kit. This fab Kit has enough papers to make at least 10 layouts, and is available from Being Scrappy for a limited time so don't miss out!

 I had some great pics of my friend Andrea's two kids playing on iPads, Amy is 5 and Joe is 3 and they know exactly what to do!

I used the graduated aqua side of the 'Flair Forever' paper as the base for my layout.

Cut a 6" x 9" piece of the spotty 'Flair Today' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom of the layout.

Next cut a 9" x 8" piece of the 'Flair Small' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down towards the top of  the layout.

Then cut a 1.75" x 12" strip of the 'Flair Small' paper, ink the edges and stick down over the first two papers.

Mount two 6" x 4" photos onto a piece of the aqua Bazzill. Then cut out one of the cards from the 'Flair Today' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down to the top right of the arrow patterned paper. Then stick down the mounted photos.

 

 

Pick another card from the 'Flair Today' paper, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom right of the photos. Add your journaling.

Add some of the stickers from the matching sticker sheet that comes with the Kit.

I finished off my layout with a title from my own stash.

October Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy

Morning Everyone!

This week I used the 'Trendsetter' papers by Fancy Pants from the October Being Scrappy Kit. I had some cute photos of Lee with my friend Andrea's daughter Amy mucking around when we were at Zizzi's for lunch.

I used the beige Bazzill as the base for my layout. Cut a 3" x 12" strip of the 'Digits' paper, ink the edges and stick down to the left side of the layout.

Then cut a 9" x 8" piece of the 'Runway' paper (green zigzag) ink the edges and stick down.

Cut a 4" x 11" strip of the 'Runway' paper (wood grain)' ink the edges and stick down.

Cut a couple of the strips from the 'Trendsetter Strips', ink the edges and stick down overlapping the bottom of the photos.

Crop three photos to - 3.75" x 5.5", 3.5" x 5.5" and 3.75" x 4". Mount the 3.75" x 5.5" photo onto the journaling card that comes with the Kit, ink the edges. Stick down all three photos, layering each of them slightly over the other.

Punch a selection of stars from the different papers, ink the edges and stick down to the top left corner and bottom corner of the layout.

I added a title using the Thickers alpha that comes with the Kit.

July Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

This week in the Being Scrappy Kit I had the bright 'Color Me Happy' papers by Glitz to play with and I knew the perfect photos to go with the spotty paper... some of my best friend's little ones playing in the ball pit at a local soft play.

I used the white Bazzill as the base for my layout.

Cut a 4" x 12" strip of the dotty 'Polka' paper and stick down to the left side of the layout.

Punch approx. 19 x 1" circles from the 'Polka' paper. Stick 13 of them in a line across the top and bottom of the layout. Keep the other circles for later.

Pick one of the 6" x 4" cards from the 'Bits & Pieces' paper and attach to the bottom left of the layout.

I mounted two 6" x 4" photos to a piece of the blue Bazzill and stuck down.

Next cut a 2.75" x 2.25" piece of the blue Bazzill and mount onto a 3" x 2.5" piece of the 'Polka' paper. Add your journaling and then attach with foam pads to the top right of the photos. Add one of the punched circles.

Attach 5 of the punched circles with foam pads to the strip of 'Polka' paper.

I raided my own stash for a colourful alpha to finish off with.

Mini Album No. 3...

Evening Everyone!

The final mini album that I made while on hols in Lanzarote...luckily I have a husband who loves to lay in the sun while I sit in the shade scrapping! This one features my best friend's 5 year old daughter Amy and photos she took when we were visiting. I let her borrow my camera and it was funny watching her get people to pose for her! I wrote the journaling as if it was Amy writing it.

GoGo Getaway Oct 2012...

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe it has been a week since the October GoGo Getaway, as always it was a fab weekend of scrapbooking and catching up with my lovely crafty friends! Hi to Niki, Donna, Rachel, Dawn and Jean!

Lorraine and Janice put together a wonderful weekend with lots of thought and lovely details. Each Getaway they take the feedback from the previous Getaway and make it even better (if that is at all possible!)... We had some great classes to choose from (7 in total over the weekend, with 3 choices for each!). So armed with my photos and scrapping tote I was ready! Here are the end results of my classes..

We stamped on a domino and coloured it in...

So that was all the classes I did over the weekend... however I did manage to do finish some more layouts so I will post them later in the week...
