GoGo Getaway - Aquarelle Adventures...

Hi Everyone!

I went on a mini retreat with my lovely crafty friend Niki to Wanborough (near Swindon) with GoGo Getaway last month. It was called Aquarelle Adventures and as the name suggests was based around watercolours and painting! Not my normal style but I do like to try new techniques and GoGo are great for this. We did 3 x layouts, a mini album and box and for all of them used the lovely Prima 'Free Spirit' range of papers and embellishments.

This was our first class with Sam Ball, a double layout featuring one large photos and a couple of small ones. We had fun adding paint using a dry brush, an old credit card and paint tube lids...brought out the messy child in you!

We added some subtle stamping using a Prima floral stamp and light gray ink..

Our next class was with the lovely Sheena Rowland and we made a fabby mini album with lots of lift up flaps and hidden journaling...

And the box that we decorated to hold the mini album (it started off life as the watercolour paint set that we received!)...

Next on the agenda was another Sam Ball class featuring another double layout. We had to mix the colours for the background as we went so that it created a graduated wash of complementary colours.

We had to splatter paint as well, and add embossing powder to artist medium to create the glossy bumps.

Sheena was back with a single layout class, we used a Heidi Swapp stencil to cut out sunrays from a piece of white card. This then went over the painted background to create a lovely colourful sunburst.

We added rock salt once we had painted to add a different texture to some of the painted rays.

And we couldn't finish off without making a card...

We added some stamped flowers...

And some watercoloured panels...

Another fab weekend from Janice and Lorraine at GoGo! Looking forward to the next retreat for more fab classes :-)

GoGo Getaway March 2014 Part 3...

Hi Everyone!

What a nice day it has been, we have been into town and then had lunch at friends where we spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine in their garden. I almost feel like I caught some sun!

So, I finally get round to posting the last lot of layouts that I did at the GoGo Getaway at the end of March. I managed to do most of the sketch challenges that they were running and these are the last of them...

We stayed over at our friend's Phil and Helen's place for New Year and the next morning their two girls, Lucy and Ellie dressed up for us...

I have been slowly working my way through our honeymoon photos (it was 2010)! so managed to get a few more done...

I loved this sketch challenge, a great way to use up small scraps of papers! This photo was taken at our annual Christmas lunch and Lucy was being very focused colouring in after dinner...

Another honeymoon photo!

And the final one was our GoGo group photo, we have never posed for it out in the Italian garden before so was a nice change...

GoGo Getaway March 2014 Part 2....

Hi again!

Continuing on from Monday's post here are some more pics from my weekend away at the GoGo Getaway retreat. I was there with my lovely crafty friend Niki, my crop and scrapping friend Jean and Niki's mum. It was over all too soon but we had a fun time with lot's of scrapping done... Here are the rest of the classes and some of the layouts I did for the sketch challenges that were being run...

My last class on Sat was with the lovely Janice who is one half of GoGo, she taught the 'Pin, Don't Pop' class where we got to make our own bobby pin embellishments...

Onto Sunday and I had the 'Walled Garden' class with Rebekah Brumby, Lots of fussy cutting with this class!

My last class of the weekend was with Sheena again and her 'Days Documented' layout... a take on the Project Life style of scrapping...

So, they were the 7 classes I did but that's not all! I managed to get a further 10 layouts done using the sketch challenges that GoGo had for us to take part in during our free time.

I used the Cosmo Cricket 'Sweet Disposition' papers for this layout of my friend's kids Amy and Joe on a day out to Willow's Farm...

I really liked this sketch challenge, I left it to the last as wasn't sure about it but really liked how it came out in the end. I used the fab 'Plus One' papers by Amy Tangerine.. The title is related to the amazing burgers we had at Annie's Burger Shack in Nottingham, I had the Vermonter which came with bacon, pancakes and maple syrup! Lee had the Gringo burger that came topped with a large tortilla basket filled with spicy rice, beans and guacamole!

I used the Cosmo Cricket 'Sweet Disposition' papers again and a photo of Amy crafting at Willow's Farm...

I love this cute photo of Simon and Julia's little girl, Eliza.. and these Crate Paper 'Style Board papers were perfect!

Anyway that's all for now... I will back with Part 3 later!
