August Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

So this week I used the 'He Said She Said' papers by Teresa Collins that are in the August Being Scrappy Kit. I had some photos of a lunch date with friends and their cute little boy Harrison. Have a look at the photos at his red cheeks, it had been a nice day but not that warm... later that night he got his first tooth!

I used the 'Arrows' paper as the base for my layout but I did gut a 7" x 8.5" piece from it as I wanted to use the other side for journaling.

Cut a 8.5" x 10" piece of the green Bazzill and stick down to the right side of the layout.

Next take the piece of gutted 'Arrows' paper and cut it to 8" x 3.75" and adhere to the bottom of the green Bazzill.

Add two 6" x 4" portrait photos. I used a couple of the photo corners that come with the Kit in the top right and top left corner of the two photos.

Cut a couple of 8.5" strips of words from the 'Words' paper and stick down to the top and bottom of the green Bazzill.

Add some journaling on strips of pink Bazzill to the bottom right below the photos.

I used a couple of alphas from my own stash for the title, one I have had for years but knew I would get round to using it eventually!

Finish off with a banner cut from the 'Arrows' paper and a row of the photo corners just below the title.

Don't forget to pop on over to Niki's blog to see the two layouts she has come up with for this week. The August Kit is available here and Niki has a fab offer for August on a monthly subscription!

A couple of layouts...

Hi Everyone!

I have managed to get a few extra layouts done over the last few weeks as I was up to date with my Being Scrappy Kits. So I pulled out some papers I have had for a while that suited our honeymoon and scrapped a couple of layouts...

We honeymooned in Hawaii and stayed on Oahu near Waikiki. In the layout below this was just outside our hotel and you can see Diamond Head in the background.

This was breakfast each morning at our hotel, we could sit and enjoy it overlooking the beach!

August Week 3 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

I am loving the papers that I used from the Being Scrappy August Kit this week... 'Find Your Wings and Fly' by My Mind's Eye. My photos were from the last GoGo Getaway scrapbook retreat that I went to in March.

Use the chevron patterned 'Sky's the Limit Layered Ephemera' paper for the layout base.

Then cut three different width strips from the 'Sky's the Limit Look' paper, ink the edges and stick two down to the left side of the layout. Keep the third one until you have stuck the photos down.

Crop three 6" x 4" photos to 5.75" x 3.25" and stick down. Add the third strip just over the left edge of the photos.

Cut a couple of strips of patterned paper, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom right of the layout.

I added a few strips of pink washi tape from my own stash.

You get a cute set of matching buttons and chipboard pieces in the Kit, thread some of the buttons with twine and attach with glue dots.

Add some journaling on strips of the 'Sky's the Limit Look' paper and stick down.

Finish off with a title, I used some alphas from my own stash.

Have a look here to see what Niki has come up with this week.

It's a great time to start scrapbooking as Niki has a fab subscription offer running throughout August... if you sign up for a monthly subscription during the month of August you can have this Kit for the promotional price of just £20 (usually £25) and your postage is absolutely free!

Mini Album...

Hi Everyone!

Had a clear out and tidy up the other day and went through some unfinished projects I had tucked away. I realised I actually had quite a few mini albums to finish off so thought it was about time I started to get them completed!

So here is the first one... this one goes back a few years as it is one of the early Stampin' Up! scrapbook kits. I only needed to add the photos and embellishments so a quick one to tick off the list!

I will be back with more mini albums as I finish them off,,, watch this space.

Another Document class completed, I am loving this style of scrapping as it is making me think about taking photos and capturing the memories, no matter how big or small the event is!

The July calendar page...

The divided plastic pockets... you will see one is still to be finished as I need to get a photo from someone else!

August Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

Back again with another layout using the Being Scrappy August Kit. This time I used the bright, summery 'Key Lime' papers from Bo Bunny. What better photos to use than from a beach holiday! These were some shots from our week away in Lanzarote earlier this year.

I used the orange Bazzill for my base but I did gut some from the centre as I wanted to use some to mount one of the photos.

Cut a 10.25" x 11.5" piece of the 'Key Lime Splash' paper and stick down centrally to the orange Bazzill.

Select a journaling card from the 'Key Lime Wipe Out' paper and stick to the left side of the layout.

I picked one of the matching paper die cuts to use as my title and stuck this to the top right of the layout.

I took three 6" x 4" photos and cropped the two portrait photos to 5.5" x 4" and the landscape one to 5.75" x 4". Mount one of the portrait photos onto orange Bazzill. Then stick down your photos, I used foam pads on the mounted photo to add some dimension.

Select some of the paper die cuts and some of the cards from the 'Key Lime Wipe Out' paper and attach (use foam pads on some of them).

I cut some little splashes from the left over pieces of the 'Key Lime Splash' to finish off the layout.

Hop on over to Niki's blog to see the layouts that she has come up with this week. Being Scrappy has a fab offer running, if you sign up for a monthly subscription during August you can have this kit for the promotional price of just £20 (usually £25) and your postage is absolutely free!

Our little nephew...

Hi Everyone!

Lee and I became an auntie and uncle for the first time yesterday! Lee's middle brother Chris's wife Louise gave birth to a very sweet baby boy just before midnight last night. He came almost 3 weeks early, was 6lbs 13oz and is called Ralph Henry Baldwin. We are yet to meet him but hope to very soon...here is the first photo we have been sent.

So of course I needed to make a card as wasn't prepared for Ralph being early! I made two baby boy cards as Tom in my team at work is also having a baby boy (well, his girlfriend Jen is and was being induced this weekend). We haven't given them out yet but they won't be looking at my blog so here is what I came up with...

I haven't made that many cards recently unless I have been at one of Niki's card classes so it was nice to dig out the stamps and have a play.
