July Week 5 layout for Being Scrappy....

Hi Everyone!

In this week's Being Scrappy Kit I had the pretty romantic style papers 'Hello Friend' by Glitz to play with. We had just been to a Naming Ceremony for our friends Dave and Naomi's little boy Harrison and they were perfect to go with them.

I used the kraft Bazzill as the base for my layout. Cut a 10.25" x 10.25" piece of the pink Bazzill and stick down to the centre of the layout. Next cut a 10" x 10" piece of the 'Bokeh' paper and adhere centrally over the pink Bazzill.

Cut a 1" x 9.25" strip of the striped 'Stripe' paper and stick down towards the bottom of the layout. Stick down two 6" x 4" photos (1 x portrait and 1 x landscape), I did trim mine slightly as they looked better.

Cut a 0.5" x 12" strip of the pink Bazzill and punch a border along the long edge. Then cut a 1.25" x 12" strip of the 'Clouds' paper and stick down just over the bottom of the photos. Add some journaling.

Punch out some hearts from the pink Bazzill and one of the patterned papers and stick down.

Take the pretty Glitz banner that comes with the Kit and attach two lengths to the top left corner of the layout.

Finish off with a title just above the right photo, I used some from my own stash!

July Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

In this week's Being Scrappy Kit we had the fun sorbet coloured 'Cool Summer' range by Carta Bella to play with. As there was an ice-cream theme with the papers I knew I could get set up some suitably appropriate pics while we were in the Isle of Wight at the end of June!

I used the spotty 'Summer Words' paper as the base for my layout, though afterwards I did think using one of the plain coloured Bazzill cardstock would have been better...

I will walk through each row starting from the top...

Row 1
Cut the following: 4.25" x 3.5" and a 2.5" x 3.5" pink Bazzill, 4.5" x 3.5" green Bazzill, 2.25" x 3.25" 'Cool Off' paper, 4.25" x 3.25" photo.

Row 2
Cut the following: 3.25" x 4" green Bazzill, 4.75" x 4" pink Bazzill, 4.5" x 3.75" photo, 3" x 3.75" 'Cool Off' paper,one 3" x 4" picture/journaling card from the 'Summer Season Cards' paper.

Row 2
Cut the following: 4" x 4" green Bazzill, 4" x 4" pink Bazzill, two 3.75" x 3.75" photos, 2.25" x 4"and 0.5" x 4" picture/journaling cards from the 'Summer Season Cards' paper.

Mount the photos and papers and stick down as shown in the main pic.

Select some of the chipboard embellishments and stick down.

I added a title using an American Thickers Alpha from my own stash.

July Week 3 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

This week I had the fab 'Everyday Eclectic' range of papers by Echo Park to play with and the pretty pastel colours made me think of little ones and cupcakes!

I used the 'Half Circle' paper as the base for my layout. Cut a 9" x 9.5" piece of the 'Kraft Clouds' paper, ink the edges with brown ink and attach to the left side of the layout.

Cut a 1.5" x 10.25" strip of the 'Large Hexagon' paper, ink the edges and stick down.

Add a 1" x 9" strip of kraft Bazzill to the right of the first strip, cut into banner ends. Don't forget to ink the edges!

Then add an 11.25 piece of the pink spotty ribbon that comes with the Kit.

Take the little kraft envelope that comes with the Kit and stick to the right side of the layout.

Add two 6" x 4" photos, first tie a piece of the pink striped twine around the right photo.

Add a little piece of the tied twine to the top part of the ribbon.

I made a little cupcake embellishment as my layout was about cupcakes, but you could add any sort of punched flowers, leaves or other shapes to suit your layout.

I finished off with some journaling...

And a title using an American Crafts Thickers Alpha from my own stash.

July Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

This week in the Being Scrappy Kit I had the bright 'Color Me Happy' papers by Glitz to play with and I knew the perfect photos to go with the spotty paper... some of my best friend's little ones playing in the ball pit at a local soft play.

I used the white Bazzill as the base for my layout.

Cut a 4" x 12" strip of the dotty 'Polka' paper and stick down to the left side of the layout.

Punch approx. 19 x 1" circles from the 'Polka' paper. Stick 13 of them in a line across the top and bottom of the layout. Keep the other circles for later.

Pick one of the 6" x 4" cards from the 'Bits & Pieces' paper and attach to the bottom left of the layout.

I mounted two 6" x 4" photos to a piece of the blue Bazzill and stuck down.

Next cut a 2.75" x 2.25" piece of the blue Bazzill and mount onto a 3" x 2.5" piece of the 'Polka' paper. Add your journaling and then attach with foam pads to the top right of the photos. Add one of the punched circles.

Attach 5 of the punched circles with foam pads to the strip of 'Polka' paper.

I raided my own stash for a colourful alpha to finish off with.

July Week 1 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

This week in my Being Scrappy Kit I had the lovely 'So Noted' papers by Carta Bella to play with... they were perfect to scrap some photos from our friends Dave and Naomi's wedding.

The Always You paper was the perfect base for my layout.  I gutted a 6" x 6" piece from where the photos will go, as I wanted to use the pale aqua spotted paper to the left and right of the photos. I suggest you prepare your photos and yellow Tiny Lace paper first so you can place them and then mark the area that you can cut the piece from.

Cut a 6.75" x 9" piece of the yellow Tiny Lace paper.

Crop your two photos to 4" x 5.75" and mount one of them onto the burgundy Bazzill.

Cut a 2" x 6" piece and a 1" x 6" piece from the gutted square of Always You paper.

Layer the patterned papers and stick down.

Next cut a 1" x 12" strip of the burgundy Bazzill and punch a decorative border in it. Then cut a 1.5" x 12" strip of the Tiny Lace paper and attach this to the layout with the burgundy border punched strip just tucked under it.

Stick down the two photos.

Add the embellishments, I used a couple of stickers from the matching sticker sheet that comes with the Kit. I also punched some butterflies from the burgundy Bazzill and attached them to the top left and bottom right of the layout. Add a small pearl to each of the larger butterflies.

Use the alpha stickers to create your title just below the photos.

If you like what you see then this Kit is available for a limited time here, have a look at the great value monthly subscription that is available! Pop on over to Niki's blog to see the fab layouts she has created.
