Tree Planting at The Magical Wood!

Hi Everyone,

On Sunday myself, Lee, his Mum and Dad and younger brother Sam spent the day at the Woodland Trust's Heartwood Forest just outside Sandridge in St. Albans. We were there as part of a group of almost 400 Disney Store volunteers helping plant the final 16,500 trees in The Magical Wood. These volunteers are made up of Cast Members from our Stores, Head Office and Distribution Centre and they come from as far away as Plymouth, York and Manchester just for the day!

The Magical Wood is a small piece of woodland within Heartwood Forest and is being supported by the Disney Store. As part of this we have spent the last three years helping to plant trees to ensure that there is more native woodland for children and adults alike to enjoy for years to come. The last 2 years have not been the best weather wise (in fact they have been pretty wet and windy!) however it was third time lucky on Sunday as we had a glorious sunny day to work in!

Here are some pics so you can see exactly what we were up to on the day...

Hi Everyone,

Over at Pages of Memories this week I had some lovely papers from Glitz and Prima to use for this week's Kit. I pulled out some photos that go back to 2008 that I have been wanting to scrap and these papers worked perfectly! We were on a weekend away with friends staying in Mundesley and we had taken a lovely walk around the Broads.

Some close up pics...

Pages of Memories February Week 3 Layout

My layout for the Pages of Memories Week 3 Kit was made with the fab 'Summers End' papers from Fancy Pants. I had some really cute pics that I had taken a couple of weeks ago when my friends Andrea and Jonathan visited with their two kids, Amy and Joe. It was a pretty windy day so rather than a trip to the park we took them to 'Big Space' soft play near Harpenden. The kids (and us) had lots of fun and as you can see from the photos Joe took a liking to crawling out the window of the playhouse rather than using the door! Very cute...

This Kit is available for a short time from Pages of Memories. Have a look at their blog for more layout ideas with this Kit.

Mini Album...

I finished this Mini Album a while ago but only remembered to photograph it today! This was made at a ScrapaGoGo workshop last May. As we were using the fab Sassafrass papers I thought they would work really well with photos of all of our friends kids.

Simply Stampin' Challenge - Theme

Over at the Simply Stampin' Challenge this week we have a theme for everyone to work with, and it was 'Heartfelt'. So a Valentine's card seemed just the thing! I wanted to do something a little different to the typical reds and pinks so came up a card using some of the fab 'SU! Brights colours. I also do not own a SU! Valentine's stamp set so had to look at all my other sets and see what I had to work with... and all I had was a sentiment, a small heart, and 2 x 'love' stamps. Anyone I ended up using just the first 2 and think it ended up looking ok!

Products used (all by Stampin' Up! unless specified):
Cardstock: Real Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Small Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Linen Thread, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)
Stamp Sets: Pennant Parade, Tiny Tags, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Pages of Memories February Week 1 Layout

My layouts for the first February Kit from Pages of Memories was made with the fab 'Lost and Found 2' papers from My Minds Eye. I loved them so much that I ended up with 2 x layouts using some of my sister's wedding pics from July 2006. They live in Australia so don't get to see them that much but we will soon be heading off to Sydney in April to catch up with them and the rest of my family which is long overdue!

This first layout shows us after the wedding having the official wedding party photos taken... as you can see we were enjoying some nice bubbly!

Some close up shots of the embellishments...

The second layout shows my sister and her husband looking very happy. A little bit of trivia about the wooden bridge that they were walking over... it was used in a scene from one of the Mission Impossible movies where you see Tom Cruise racing over it on a motorbike!

More arty close up shots of the embellishments...

You can get this kit for a limited time from the Pages of Memories Online Store.
