January Week 1 layout for Being Scrappy...

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is enjoying a good start to 2014 and there are not too many hangovers!

This week is the start of the new January Being Scrappy Kit and I am using the 'Mistletoe Magic' papers by Mind's Eye for this week's layout. I am actually using a photo of Lee in the snow from a few years ago.

Use the 'Trees' paper as the base for the layout, I did gut a 7" x 7" piece from the right side of the layout as I wanted to use the reverse side under my photo.

Cut a 7.5" x 7.75" piece of the green Bazzill, distress the edges and stick down over the hole you just gutted from the layout. Then take the gutted piece of the 'Mistletoe Magic' paper, distress the edges and stick down (striped side facing up).

Next cut a 2" x 9.5" strip of the 'Snow Flakes' paper and stick down.

Add your 6" x 4" photo.

Then add some of the matching washi tape across the bottom of the photo and top right of the photo.

Punch 3 x large snowflakes, ink the edges and attach to the top right and bottom left corner of the photo, mount some with foam pads for height. Use some of the little flower shapes on the Thickers Alpha that comes with the Kit to embellish around the snowflakes.

Add a small strip of patterned paper to the top left of the layout, along with a strip of washi tape. Use some more of the little flower shapes from the Thickers to embellish with.

Use some strips of the green Bazzill for journaling and finish off with a title, add a strip of the washi tape underneath it.

To see the two layouts that Niki has come up with this week have a look at her blog, and to buy the Kit pop over here. Remember it is available for a limited time!

Thanks for looking!

    1. Thanks Margaret, I gut quite a lot as typically I like both sides of the paper!
