October Week 5 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

For this week's layout I am using the 'Cut & Paste' papers from My Mind's Eye that come in the Being Scrappy October Kit. This fab Kit has enough papers to make at least 10 layouts, and is available from Being Scrappy for a limited time so don't miss out!

I had some great pics of my friend Andrea's two kids playing on iPads, Amy is 5 and Joe is 3 and they know exactly what to do!

I used the graduated aqua side of the 'Flair Forever' paper as the base for my layout.

Cut a 6" x 9" piece of the spotty 'Flair Today' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom of the layout.

Next cut a 9" x 8" piece of the 'Flair Small' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down towards the top of  the layout.

Then cut a 1.75" x 12" strip of the 'Flair Small' paper, ink the edges and stick down over the first two papers.

Mount two 6" x 4" photos onto a piece of the aqua Bazzill. Then cut out one of the cards from the 'Flair Today' paper, round the top two corners, ink the edges and stick down to the top right of the arrow patterned paper. Then stick down the mounted photos.

Pick another card from the 'Flair Today' paper, ink the edges and stick down to the bottom right of the photos. Add your journaling.

Add some of the stickers from the matching sticker sheet that comes with the Kit.

I finished off my layout with a title from my own stash.

Have a look here to see the two layouts that Niki has come up with for this week.

October Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy

Morning Everyone!

This week I used the 'Trendsetter' papers by Fancy Pants from the October Being Scrappy Kit. I had some cute photos of Lee with my friend Andrea's daughter Amy mucking around when we were at Zizzi's for lunch.

I used the beige Bazzill as the base for my layout. Cut a 3" x 12" strip of the 'Digits' paper, ink the edges and stick down to the left side of the layout.

Then cut a 9" x 8" piece of the 'Runway' paper (green zigzag) ink the edges and stick down.

Cut a 4" x 11" strip of the 'Runway' paper (wood grain)' ink the edges and stick down.

Cut a couple of the strips from the 'Trendsetter Strips', ink the edges and stick down overlapping the bottom of the photos.

Crop three photos to - 3.75" x 5.5", 3.5" x 5.5" and 3.75" x 4". Mount the 3.75" x 5.5" photo onto the journaling card that comes with the Kit, ink the edges. Stick down all three photos, layering each of them slightly over the other.

Punch a selection of stars from the different papers, ink the edges and stick down to the top left corner and bottom corner of the layout.

I added a title using the Thickers alpha that comes with the Kit.

October Week 3 layout for Being Scrappy...

Hi Everyone!

This week I used the Basic Grey 'Mint Julep' papers from the October Being Scrappy Kit. As they had a vintage feel to them I decided to scrap some photos of our visit to Highclere Castle in August with mum and dad.

I used the 'Carolina' paper as my base, again I didn't gut this but you could if you wanted to have some extra paper for another project.

Cut a 9" x 8.5" piece of the 'Marion' paper and stick down to the right side of the layout. I did add a couple of embellishments first - in the top right they were stapled on, and the bottom right they were tucked under the edge.

Stick down two photos cropped to 5.75" x 4".

Then I just created embellishments using the matching transparencies that come with the Kit (there are loads!). I layered up some tags and used these for journaling, attaching some small decorative pieces after with staples.

Add a length of one of the manufacturers strips and a border punched strip to the bottom left of the layout.

Finish off with a title, this one was from my own stash.

October Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

For my Being Scrappy layout this week I used the bright 'On the Sunny Side' papers from My Mind's Eye. They were lovely and cheerful and were perfect to go with some recent photos of our new nephew Ralph...

I used the 'Parade' paper as the base for my layout, now I didn't gut it but you could if you wanted too so that you had extra paper to use for another layout. I just forgot!

Next cut two 2" x 11" strips of the yellow Bazzill, round the left corners and stick to the layout base approx. 0.75" from the top and bottom.

Then cut two 1" x 11" strips of the yellow Bazzill and punch a decorative border in each one.

Cut a 8" x 11" piece of the 'Sweet Chevron' paper and stick the border punched strips just underneath the top and bottom edges before sticking down.

Cut a 4.5" x 11" piece of the 'Simple Stripe' paper and stick down.

Mount a 5.75" x 4" photo to piece of yellow Bazzill and then onto some of the 'Simple Stripe' paper. Tie a piece of twine around the bottom of the photo and then stick down to the left side of the layout.

Crop two photos to 4" x 3" and mount to a piece of yellow Bazzill and stick down to the right of the large photo.

Add some strips of yellow Bazzill below the two smaller photos for your journaling.

I added a title using some alphas from my own stash.

Finish off with some of the buttons that come with the Kit but don't leave them naked, tie them with some twine first!

Oct Week 1 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

The new monthly Being Scrappy Kit for October is out now and there are some fab papers and other embellishments to get crafty with! I had some recent photos of Eliza, our friends Simon and Julia's cute daughter, with the little Minnie doll that we gave her. They were just perfect with the 'Beautiful Life' papers by Echo Park.

Use the navy Bazzill as the base for the layout but gut a 9" piece from the centre.

Cut a 10.5" piece of the 'Doilies' paper, distress the edges and stick down centrally onto the navy Bazzill.

Next cut a 4.5" x 11.25" strip of the 'Banners' paper, cut a banner piece out of one end and then stick down to the bottom of the layout. Cut an 11.25" strip of the 'Tickets' paper, cut a banner edge and stick down.

Crop 4 x photos to 3" x 4" and adhere 3 of them just over the ticket strip. Mount the fourth one onto the navy Bazzill.

Cut out one of the journaling cards from the 'Journaling Cards' paper and stick down to the top left of the layout. Add your journaling.

Add embellishments to the bottom left of the journaling card, top right of the mounted photo and below the row of three photos. I punched some circles, butterflies, leaves and decorative borders from the various papers and layer them up as shown.

Add a title, I used a Thickers alpha from a previous Kit and one from my own stash.
