Sept Week 4 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

For this week's layout I used the Basic Grey 'Bow Ties' papers that come in the Sept Being Scrappy Kit. I had some fun photos of our godson Freddie in his Easter hat that were perfect with the papers.

I used the 'Marbles' paper as the base for my layout but I did gut a piece approx. 8.5" x 8.5" from the centre first. Then cut a 10.5" x 10" piece of the green Bazzill and stick down centrally on the 'Marbles' paper.

Next cut two strips from the 'Red Rover' patterned paper - 1" x 11" and 1.5" x 11.5", ink the edges with brown ink and layer up with a couple of the manufacturers strips towards the bottom of the green Bazzill.

Cut a 3" x 4.5" piece of the 'Marbles' paper, ink the edges and stick down to the left side of the layout, this will be your journaling card.

Crop three photos to 3.5" x 5.5" and mount one to a piece of the red 'Red Rover' paper. Stick down to the layout with the mounted photo in the centre.

Decorate with some of the stickers from the Bow Ties set that come with the Kit.

Finish off with a title using the Thickers alpha that came with the Kit.

Sept Week 3 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

I am using the Summer Stories range of papers by Teresa Collins for this week's layout for Being Scrappy. If you like a bit of bling these papers are for you... lots of glitter! Though I ended up not actually using any of the glittery options on my layout!

I used the striped side of the Dots' paper as the base for my layout. Then cut a 3" x 12" strip of the blue patterned 'Filigree' paper and attach to the bottom of the layout. Cut a 1" strip of the brown patterned side of the 'Filigree' paper and attach over the join of the papers.

Take the patterned strip from the sticker sheet that comes with the Kit and stick down over the 'Filigree' strip.

I used five 6" x 4" photos that I cropped down and mounted onto the cream Bazzill as follows:
1) 5.5" x 3.75" mounted onto 5.75" x 4"
2) 3" x 3" mounted onto 3.25" x 3.25"
3) 3.25" x 3.5" mounted onto 3.5" x 3.75"
4) 3.5" x 5" mounted onto 3.75" x 5.25"
5) 2.75" x 4" mounted onto 3" x 4.25"

Attach these all onto the layout in the order shown.

Cut some strips of one of the papers and use for your journaling, stick down in the bottom right of the layout.

Then embellish using some of the stickers from the Glitz sticker sheet, I used some of the hearts and arrows.

Finish off with a title for your layout using the Thickers alpha that comes with the Sept Kit.

Another Scrapbooking Class...

Hi Everyone!

I was at one of Niki's Scrapbook Classes recently and we made 4 fab layouts...

This one is of me with our new little nephew Ralph. I am loving the very on trend hexagon background - we had to stamp and punch out all of them!

Our friend's little girl Eliza, she was so determined riding her bike!

This is Freddie, our godson at his Daddy's 40th birthday cricket match, he certainly looked the part!

Finally a double layout of Eliza and Oscar having fun riding the bug at our friend's house...

Sept Week 2 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

For this week's layouts from the Being Scrappy Sept Kit I used the My Mind's Eye 'Kate & Co' and 'Nostalgia' papers. I had some great photos of our visit to the Donkey Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight to scrap and think they worked well with the bright papers!

Use the My Mind's Eye 'Nostalgia' paper as the base for your layout.

Cut the following pieces and ink all of the edges with brown ink:
1) Banners - 2.5" x 6", 2.5" x 4.5" and 2.5" x 3.5". Cut a banner shape in one end.
2) 3" x 10" strip of the spotty 'Kate & Co' paper.
3) 1.5" x 9" strip of the floral 'Kate & Co' paper.
4) Cut 3 of the small journaling cards from the 'Kate & Co' paper.

Place all of the cut pieces onto the base until you are happy with the layout and then stick down.

Crop down four 6" x 4" photos to 3" x 3" and mount onto a 6.25" x 6.25" piece of pink Bazzill. Ink the edges and stick to the left side of the layout.

I cut out some little triangles to make a mini banner with the twine and enamel dots that come with the Kit, this was then stuck down below the photos.

Cluster a few embellishments in the top right corner of the layout - 0.5" x 3" piece of the spotty paper, 0.75" x 2.25" piece of the pink chevron paper and a 1.25" x 1.5" piece of the floral paper cut into a banner shape. Ink all of the edges and stick down, add some of the enamel dots and a star piece from the Thickers Alpha that comes with the Sept Kit.

Cut some strips from one of the journaling cards and use these to journal on, stick down to the right of the photos.

Add a title using the Thickers Alpha, I also used a mini Alpha from my own stash. Finish off with a few more of the enamel dots and a star.

Pop on over to Niki's blog to see the two layouts that she has designed for this week!

If you like this Kit then it can be purchased from Being Scrappy here.

Card Class...

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to post the cards I made at one of Niki's recent card classes, we made four cards and a notelet. They were all made using mainly Stampin' Up! products.

This one was my favourite, I loved the little elements all layered up into nine small squares...

Pretty colour combination...

The little notelet using the Stampin' Up! lattice die for the background...

Sept Week 1 layout for Being Scrappy...

Morning Everyone!

The Being Scrappy Kit for Sept has a fab selection of papers, embellishments and an Alpha and is available now! I decided to use the Carta Bella 'Well Played' papers and the American Crafts Thickers for this week's layout. As there is a game theme to the papers I picked out an old photo of Lee from a trip we did to Las Vegas in 2007.

I used the green Bazzill as the base for my layout but did gut a piece from the centre as I wanted to use it to mount my photos on.

Cut 5 x strips from the different patterned papers: 2" x 10", 2.5" x 9", 2.5" x 9", 2.5" x 9.5" and 2.5" x 9". Attach these to the green Bazzill across the layout.

Mount two 5.5" x 3.5" photos onto a 7.5" x 5.75" piece of green Bazzill and stick down to the right of the layout.

Cut some of the game images from the 'Border Strips' paper and layer up with some washi tape (from my own stash!) in the top left of the layout and bottom left of the photos. Mount some of the images with foam pads to add dimension.

Finish off with a title using the American Crafts Thicker Alpha that comes with the Sept Kit.

Have a look at the 2 layouts that Niki has created this week! If you like what you see the Being Scrappy Kit can be purchased here...
